The Kirkland Hiawatha Schools Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, was originally founded to offer scholarships to Hiawatha seniors interested in pursuing educational achievements beyond high school, as well as to enhance the school’s educational environment through funds designated for capital improvements. Friends of Hiawatha expands this mission by actively promoting Hiawatha’s importance and accomplishments to the community, as well as pursuing fund-raising activities for the purpose of facility improvements. Friends of Hiawatha is intended to provide the community with a forum via this website as a place to seek out information and answers pertaining to the school district and school facilities, as well as an opportunity to show their support.
We are encouraging any members of the community who wish to become more informed about the schools and our district to visit this website often. You may also contact us at friendsofhiawatha@gmail.com with your feedback or questions, and we encourage you to show your support by joining us on the members page of this site, or by signing up for our e-mail updates. Friends of Hiawatha views Hiawatha Schools as the heart of our community, and the district needs our support to ensure our schools are nurtured and preserved, for this generation and for generations to come.
Sincerely,
Mary Jo Downen
